Job Description:

Due to our clients' continued expansion, we are looking for a capable Soil Scientist/ALC Surveyor to join our ALC team. The role involves site and office-based tasks, supporting regional projects across the business. You will receive guidance and support to develop your career within Soil Science and Geo-Environmental fields.

This position is ideal for an ambitious, energetic individual confident in communicating with colleagues, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities from project start to finish. The candidate must demonstrate confidence in decision-making during site works and be capable of working independently when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend sites regularly (including overnight stays), conduct investigations, walkovers, and monitoring.
• Manage projects, liaise with suppliers, and prepare health and safety documentation.
• Communicate with clients and regulators.
• Perform in situ sampling and testing, including Dutch hand augers and trial pitting.
• Log soils according to current environmental guidelines.
• Coordinate laboratory testing as needed.
• Willing to learn and take on other environmental disciplines.

Requirements

• Degree in environmental, geotechnical, or soil science field.
• Industry experience preferred but not required.
• Full UK driving license.
• Ability to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
• Salary negotiable based on experience and skills; our client is a Real Living Wage Employer.
