Stepintoteaching is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Crosby (L23) to recruit a Graduate Academic Coach for a September 2026 start. This role provides hands-on experience across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and the chance to support students with SEND and SEMH needs.

Qualifications

  • Hold (or are predicted) a 2:2 degree or above.
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Are patient, resilient, and empathetic.
  • Can build positive relationships and remain calm under pressure.
  • Are confident, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Are committed for the full academic year (September 2026 – July 2027).
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with students, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Implementing strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement.
  • Assisting in the delivery of tailored interventions and differentiated learning activities.
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour in a calm, consistent manner.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students to support their development.
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
