Job summary

Step Into Teaching and a welcoming secondary school in Runcorn are seeking a Graduate Academic Coach/Teaching Assistant to support students as soon as possible. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, during the academic year and located in Runcorn WA7.

You will assist teachers, support learners and help pupils reach their potential in English, Maths and Science while contributing to an inclusive, safe learning environment. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree (2:2 or above).
• Sound knowledge in English, Maths and Science (GCSE A*-C).
• Passion for supporting children's learning.
• Be able to keep students engaged and motivated.
• Enthusiastic, friendly and approachable.
• Commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities.
• Prepared to work in a busy, changeable environment where everyone pitches in.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students with their learning development, on an individual and group basis.
• Classroom support, small group or 121 support, where needed.
• Work alongside classroom teachers to be that extra support during lessons.
• Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress.

Step into Teaching have partnered with an amazing Secondary school based in Runcorn, who are looking for further classroom support ASAP. The school is very warm, welcoming and friendly in addition to providing a safe, inclusive environment for all students to feel valued and make outstanding progress in their learning. The school needs someone who is confident and passionate about working with children with different needs and will help students reach their full potential.

This position is to start in ASAP and to remain in the school for the academic year.
