Job summary

Step into Teaching partner with an amazing Secondary school based in Bootle L20, who are looking for a new Pastoral to join their team. The school is warm, welcoming and friendly, providing a safe, inclusive environment for all students to feel valued and progress in learning.

The school needs someone confident and passionate about working with children with different needs to help students reach their full potential. This role is to start ASAP and remain in the school for the academic year.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Psychology degree (2:2 or above).
  • Strong subject knowledge within English, Maths and Science (GCSE A*-C).
  • Be passionate about supporting children with their learning.
  • Be able to keep students engaged and motivated.
  • Be enthusiastic, friendly and approachable.
  • Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities.
  • Be prepared to work in a busy, changeable environment where everyone pitches in.

Responsibilities

  • To support pupils in a small group intervention base to reintegrate into school.
  • To assist with writing and maintaining reintegration plans.
  • To support emotional wellbeing of pupils in intervention base.
  • To deliver small group social and communication intervention.
  • To support pupils with acquisition of foundational knowledge to support reintegration.
  • Assisting students with their learning development, on an individual and group basis.
  • Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to be that extra support during lessons.
  • Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress.

  • Salary: £500 - £530 weekly - Term Time Only
  • Job type: Full time role (Monday - Friday)
