Job summary

Step Into Teaching Limited in Birmingham is seeking an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming secondary school in Rubery during term time.

You will work with teachers to support English lessons, literacy and oracy, deliver interventions for dyslexia and help pupils build confidence and independent learning skills. Graduation in English required.

Step Into Teaching is recruiting an enthusiasticEnglish Graduate Teaching Assistantto support pupils in a welcoming secondary school in Rubery.

You will work alongside experienced teachers to support pupils with special educational needs, support them with their English lessons, literacy, reading and oracy. You will also deliver and support interventions for dyslexia.

The role

• Support students in English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group intervention for pupils who need additional support
• Help students develop confidence, participation and independent learning skills
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resources and classroom activities
• Adapt support to meet a range of learning needs
• Gain valuable experience for future teacher training applications

What we are looking for

• A degree inEnglish, English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, or a closely related subject, with a 2:2 or above
• Graduates and final-year students are welcome to apply
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
• Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach
• The ability to build rapport with pupils from a range of backgrounds
