Job summary

Step Into Teaching is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Runcorn, inviting applications for a Graduate Academic Coach/Teaching Assistant. You will support students in English, Maths and Science and help them stay engaged in lessons.

The role starts ASAP and runs for the academic year. You’ll join a busy team, with DBS check required and a commitment to inclusion and student progress. Salary is £500-£530 per week, term time only.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree (2:2 or above).
• Have a sound subject knowledge within English, Maths and Science (GCSE A* - C).
• Be passionate about supporting children with their learning.
• Be able to keep students engaged and motivated.
• Be enthusiastic, friendly and approachable.
• Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities.
• Be prepared to work in a busy, changeable environment where everyone pitches in.

Responsibilities

• Assisting students with their learning development, on an individual and group basis
• Classroom support, small group or 121 support, where needed.
• Work alongside classroom teachers to be that extra support during lessons
• Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
