Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a Graduate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Newcastle to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN. This role offers hands-on classroom experience and a pathway to roles in psychology, teaching or education, with ongoing DBS checks and safeguarding training.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, support staff and SEN specialists to implement individualised plans, promote inclusion and help the pupil access learning activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Interest in SEND and child development.
• Experience through volunteering, tutoring or care work is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil.
• Help the pupil access lessons and activities.
• Encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
• Support communication and emotional regulation.
• Help manage transitions throughout the school day.
• Adapt activities to suit individual needs.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff.
• Follow individual support plans and contribute to progress.
