Job summary

Story Terrace Inc. is seeking a friendly GP Receptionist/ Care Navigator at Giffard Drive Surgery. You will be the first contact for patients, handling appointments, inquiries, and front-desk duties with care and confidentiality.

The role requires excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy GP practice environment. Working hours include weekdays with a focus on patient access and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in working within a GP practice.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetic with patients and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks efficiently.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors as they arrive at the practice, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations, using electronic booking systems.
• Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members or departments.
• Respond to patient queries and provide information about services, opening hours, and other relevant information.
• Assist with general administrative tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing documents.
• Adhere to practice policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and data protection.
• Processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner
• Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies.
• Supporting the administration and receptionist teams with patient registration.
