Job summary

Swiss Cottage Surgery is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse to join our friendly GP practice. You will provide high-quality nursing care to our patient population and work with our multi-professional team in Swiss Cottage.

Experience in a GP setting is preferred, with EMIS familiarity. A full-time post (37.5 hours) is offered, with part-time considered. You will deliver immunisations, health checks and chronic disease reviews, and maintain excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
• Cervical screening training and sample taker registration.
• Immunisation training and competence, including childhood immunisations.
• Experience as a nurse in an NHS GP practice.
• Experience of long-term condition reviews and care protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, plan and deliver nursing care, review outcomes and refer to GP when needed.
• Undertake long-term condition reviews (diabetes, hypertension) and support self-management.
• Deliver adult, childhood and travel immunisations, including travel health advice.
• Perform cervical screening and related swabs, arrange follow-up.
• Provide wound assessment, dressings, phlebotomy, blood pressure checks, urinalysis and sample processing.
• Undertake NHS Health Checks and promote health (smoking cessation, healthy eating, activity).
• Assist with minor surgery and provide chaperoning; respond to emergencies.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and support recall and continuity of care.
