Job summary

Wellside Surgery in Sawtry is seeking a GP Partner post, replacing a retiring senior partner. The role focuses on consultations, both face-to-face and by phone, with some home visits, plus prescriptions, results and referrals.

The position is 2-3 days a week, initially salaried for six months to assess fit before partnership consideration, with protected CPD time and research involvement. Start date to be confirmed; entry on the performers list is required.

Qualifications

• MB ChB or equivalent and GMC registration.
• JCPTGP or CCST for GP training.
• Inclusion on the performers list is required.
• Defence organisation membership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face and telephone consultations to registered patients, with some home visits
• Assess undifferentiated problems and make autonomous clinical decisions
• Develop care plans, screen for disease risk and provide counselling and health education
• Compile and sign computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions within formulary
• Manage a patient caseload, admit and discharge patients and refer to other providers
• Deal with results, correspondence and paperwork promptly
• Keep clear, contemporaneous consultation records
• Provide a share of duty doctor sessions and half-day on-call
• Collect audit data and contribute to audit and clinical standard setting
• Work with practice, PCN and agency teams to meet patient needs
• Adhere to confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and infection control
• Share GP partner responsibilities if partnership is formed
