Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Goods Receiver is responsible for accepting and handling all incoming deliveries, processing invoices into the Adaco Purchasing system, and coordinating with various departments to ensure the safe receipt of goods. The role involves close collaboration with the Purchasing Assistant to ensure beverage and store items are properly accounted for.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect deliveries for freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality; refuse damaged or incorrect items.
  • Process all incoming goods and attach correct invoices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records via Adaco.
  • Proactively anticipate opportunities and risks in goods receiving activities.
  • Assist with the collection, storage, and recording of deliveries by department, including maintaining the loading bay.
  • Review and improve processes to enhance service levels.
  • Support store, cellar, and purchasing activities as needed, including covering staff absences.
  • Perform other duties as required, including working in different departments or restaurants.

Health and Safety

  • Be familiar with fire, emergency, and BOMB procedures and participate in drills.
  • Ensure safety of guests and staff by adhering to laws and anticipating hazards.
  • Promote health and safety awareness within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Clear and effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Experience in purchasing and supplier interaction.
  • Knowledge of market trends and purchasing IT systems.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to excellent service.
  • Team player with multitasking abilities and composure under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience in 5-star hotels or similar roles.
  • Background in goods receiving, stores, or purchasing.
  • Passion for food and beverage and understanding of the luxury sector.
  • Customer-focused mindset for UHNW clients.
  • Reliable, problem-solving skills.
