Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Goods Receiver is responsible for accepting and handling all incoming deliveries, processing invoices into the Adaco Purchasing system, and coordinating with various departments to ensure the safe receipt of goods. The role involves involvement in store functions and providing assistance as needed.

The Goods Receiver will work closely with the Purchasing Assistant to ensure all beverage and store items are accurately accounted for.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect deliveries to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality; refuse damaged or incorrect items.
• Process all incoming goods and ensure correct invoicing is attached.
• Maintain accurate inventory records via Adaco.
• Proactively anticipate opportunities and risks in goods receiving activities.
• Assist with the collection, storage, and recording of deliveries by department, and maintain the loading bay.
• Review and improve processes to enhance service levels.
• Support store, cellar, and purchasing activities, including covering staff absences.
• Perform other duties as required, including working in different departments or restaurants.

Health and Safety

• Report and rectify hazards immediately.
• Be familiar with departmental Fire, Emergency, and BOMB procedures.
• Participate in regular emergency drills and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Ensure safety of persons and property by adhering to laws and preemptively addressing hazards.
• Promote health and safety awareness within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Clear and efficient communication in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
• Purchasing experience and supplier interaction skills.
• Knowledge of industry trends and purchasing IT systems.

• Experience in 5-star hotels or similar roles.
