Job summary

ABP UK, a major division of ABP Food Group, is expanding its Glasgow Penston site and seeks an experienced Forklift Driver. You will ensure stock receipt, production supply and outbound deliveries meet safety, quality and OTIF standards.

Applicants should hold current High Reach, Counterbalance and PPT FLT qualifications, be a team player and able to work flexibly to support continuous operation in a busy food distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Current High Reach, Counterbalance and PPT FLT qualifications.
• Experience in food distribution and cold store operations.
• Willingness to learn and support team development.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maximise efficiency and service levels
• Ensure provision of all cold store requirements
• Efficiently load and unload internal and external vehicles
• Move stock around site
• Deliver stock accountability and OTIF customer service
• Minimise vehicle delay and downtime
• Check incoming product quality and integrity against standards
• Strictly adhere to safety, hygiene and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with and support team members to achieve goals
• Support trainee development to ensure the ‘next generation’ workforce

Job Role

The Forklift Driver will ensure that targets are met and regularly challenged and improved on. Delivering high standards of quality, ensuring product produced is to customer specification in line with critical control points, GMP and H&S requirements. Paying special regard to

To provide inbound stock receipt and production supply and external stock delivery requirements through strong performance and excellent customer service. Moving pallet-packed materials around the site or storage.

Main Responsibilities

• Maximise efficiency and service levels
• Ensure provision of all specific cold store requirements
• Efficiently load and unload internal and external vehicles within time frame
• Moving stock
• Deliver full stock accountability and OTIF customer service to budget
• Minimise vehicle delay and downtime
• Check all incoming product, verify product quality and integrity only accepting goods that meet company and customer standards
• Strictly adhere to all company and legislative requirements particularly encouraging safe and hygienic practices
• Collaborate with and support team members to achieve
• Support the development of future-fit employee skillset
• Demonstrate flexibility
• Support trainee development to ensure the ‘next generation’ workforce

Skills Required

• Results driven
• Experienced in/ Willing and able to learn and deliver in food distribution cold store
• Flexible, adaptable and keen to support others’ development
• Speaking, writing and understanding spoken and written English language. (This is an essential health & safety, traceability, management and quality control requirement which will be tested as part of the recruitment process)
• Team player
• Current High reach, counterbalance and PPT FLT qualification and experience
