ABP UK, a major division of ABP Food Group, seeks a QA Technician based at Penston Road, Glasgow. You will ensure raw material quality, authenticity, legality and food safety to meet customer standards. Reporting to Technical Manager, you will perform quality checks, record results, and communicate deviations to management.

A fast-paced environment and strong interpersonal skills are desired. Experience in a busy production setting and Food Safety Level 2 are required; basic IT skills are

Role Definition

Based at Penston and reporting to the Technical Manager, the post holder will be accountable for ensuring product raw material quality, authenticity, legality and food safety. Ensuring delivery of products to our customers is of the highest standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completion of Quality, food safety & labelling checks on raw material
• Recording of checks in a timely manner and reporting of non-conformances through the correct channel to ensure prompt action as required.
• Inform Senior QA and Technical on Food Safety & Quality issues.
• Communicate to line management any deviation from Quality Standards as defined by the Company or its customers.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a background within a busy production environment. The candidate will enjoy challenging, problem-solving roles and be ideally suited to a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
