Job summary

The Belfry Hotel & Resort is seeking a Golf Shop assistant to join our busy retail team. You’ll help golfers of all abilities with advice, demonstrations and a welcoming shopping experience that reflects the prestige of The Belfry.

This role is 32 hours across 4 days per week, with a base salary of £21,149.44 per year plus service charge, and a range of Belfry benefits including training, staff discounts and free parking.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of golf equipment.
• Strong analytical skills to assess swing dynamics and equipment needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Passion for golf and commitment to enhancing player performance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake academy desk shifts and ball collection duties to support daily operations.
• Operate the Academy desk including telephone enquiries and payment and booking system for lessons, custom fittings and general payments.
• Operate the ball collector machine and ball machines to ensure sufficient supply for the academy and driving range.
• Deal with customer enquiries in a polite and professional manner.
• Open the driving range on time and follow opening procedures.
• Close the driving range and secure it with correct cash handling procedures.
• Promote The Belfry and its facilities to customers at every opportunity.
• Upsell to maximise revenue and departmental targets for the golf academy.
• Attend training and follow SOPs including H&S responsibilities.
• Complete relevant checklists and adhere to rota and appearance standards.
• Handle Belfry equipment with care and attend training courses including Fire, COSHH, Risk Assessments and Health and safety.
