Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is hiring a Backend Software Engineer in London. The role focuses on building Golang microservices, delivering secure, scalable backend services, and working in a hybrid environment with cross-functional teams.

You’ll collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders, influence system design, and apply DevOps practices to deploy and operate services across AWS and on-premise platforms. There is a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in Golang.
• Experience building and supporting microservices architectures.
• Experience deploying and operating applications in containerised environments, ideally Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience working within agile development environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across the application stack, including network, server and database layers.
• Experience building concurrent, distributed applications at scale.
• Experience working with DevOps or SRE teams to support production environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A passion for learning, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality software.
