Job summary

Lloyds is seeking a Golang Lead Engineer to steer the design, build and operation of backend services that are reliable, secure and scalable. You will lead delivery across teams, shaping Go APIs, integrations and deployment pipelines while promoting engineering excellence.

You will balance hands-on coding with technical leadership, mentor engineers, and partner with product, architecture, SRE and security colleagues to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions for our production

Qualifications

Experience building and operating containerised services; Kubernetes, Docker, modern cloud deployments.
Strong critical thinking, decision making and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Experience designing and delivering microservices, APIs and distributed systems balancing performance, resilience, security.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, build, release and support of complex backend services and shared platform capabilities.
Drive engineering quality through code reviews, technical leadership and reusable patterns.
Build secure, observable services for production with scalable deployment pipelines.
Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, SREs and Security specialists to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Mentor engineers, grow capability and contribute to engineering communities and standards.
Champion automation, reliability, secure coding and continuous improvement.
