Job summary

JT Recruit Ltd is seeking a General Manager to lead transport and warehouse operations in a growing logistics environment. This hands-on role requires a strong operational leader who can drive performance, coach teams and ensure safe, efficient and profitable operations in Newarkshire area.

You will manage day-to-day performance, drive productivity, optimise fleet and warehouse processes, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to exceed expectations.

• Significant management experience within transport, logistics, warehousing or distribution.
• Proven ability to improve performance and deliver results.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead transport and warehouse teams to deliver safe, efficient and profitable operations.
• Own operational performance, KPIs and service levels.
• Drive productivity gains, cost control and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance, safety and commercial effectiveness of transport operations.
• Optimise fleet utilisation, driver scheduling and delivery performance.
• Oversee warehouse accuracy, picking, goods-in/goods-out and stock control.
• Identify issues and implement practical, fast solutions.
• Establish clear processes, standards and accountability across the operation.
• Monitor data and translate insights into action; work with customers and internal teams to exceed expectations.
