Job summary

Aave Labs is seeking a VP of Compliance to lead our global compliance function across the Group, spanning regulated entities and unregulated areas. You will shape strategy, oversee risk, and partner with executive teams to embed regulatory requirements into products, partnerships and customer journeys.

In this senior role you will advise boards, manage regulatory relationships, and balance commercial priorities with strong governance across multiple jurisdictions and markets.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Compliance, Financial Crime, Regulatory or related functions within regulated financial services, fintech, payments or crypto.
• Experience operating at Group or enterprise level with responsibility spanning multiple products, business lines, entities or jurisdictions.
• Experience advising executive leadership and Boards on complex regulatory matters and challenging senior stakeholders when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Group compliance strategy and framework across products, entities and jurisdictions, calibrating controls to each business's nature and regulatory status.
• Oversee the compliance frameworks of the Group’s regulated entities and provide oversight across the wider unregulated business.
• Act as trusted advisor to executive leadership and Boards on compliance and regulatory risk, providing pragmatic, commercially minded guidance.
• Embed regulatory requirements into new products, features, partnerships and customer journeys from early stages.
• Lead assessment of regulatory implications for new products, markets and initiatives, enabling responsible execution.
• Own and develop the Group compliance programme, including policies, risk assessments, monitoring, reporting and governance.
• Oversee financial crime compliance across the Group, including AML/CTF, sanctions, customer risk, and transaction monitoring.
• Maintain regulatory relationships and lead engagement with regulators, handling applications, examinations and remediation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into clear priorities for the business.
• Provide clear compliance reporting to executive leadership and Boards, highlighting risks and trends.
