Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Standards Verifier to maintain the integrity of vocational qualifications by ensuring assessment and verification meet national standards. You will provide expert subject-specific support, conduct sampling and verification, and deliver clear feedback to centres while upholding Pearson's quality assurance frameworks.

The role requires staying current with qualification specifications, attending mandatory trainings, and producing comprehensive sampling reports.

Qualifications

• Strong background in quality assurance and assessment practices.
• Two full academic years of teaching experience in the relevant subject area within the last 8 years.
• Experience in verifying regulated qualifications.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Proven ability to deliver and coordinate training sessions.
• Knowledge of specifications and Pearson assessment processes.

Responsibilities

• Stay up to date with qualification specifications and National Occupational Standards.
• Provide expert guidance and support tailored to your subject area and verification requirements.
• Attend mandatory training and standardisation activities within required timelines.
• Conduct centre visits for verification as approved.
• Adhere to Pearson quality assurance processes and sampling strategies.
• Review learner work and internal verification records for accuracy.
• Ensure assessment decisions are valid and aligned with national standards.
• Provide actionable sampling reports for each centre visited.
• Clearly communicate when standards are not met and outline corrective actions.
• Assist centres in addressing issues and maintaining ongoing compliance.
• Maintain regular communication with your Pearson supervisor.
