Job summary

Ocado Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to deliver high-quality commercial, procurement and transactional advice across Ocado Group, UK and internationally, while mentoring junior team members. You will navigate complex technology contracts and data protection matters, build trusted partnerships at all levels, and contribute to strategy and training with a pragmatic, risk‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with specialism in commercial contracts / transactions of 4 years or more PQE.
• Ideally trained with leading law firm or in-house team focused on commercial and technology transactions.
• Experience advising on commercial and technology law outside the UK with a desire to expand expertise.
• Experience working with senior management including at executive level in complex environments.
• Extensive drafting, negotiating and advising on master service agreements, SaaS, licensing, and IT procurement.
• Strong academic qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, negotiating and providing expert advice on domestic and cross-border general commercial work related to technology and software.
• Support on Ocado Solution Platform customer contracts and other technology-related agreements.
• Ensure governance compliance and handling disputes and regulatory matters in commercial contexts.
• Lead on commercial legal aspects of key projects including corporate and capital markets transactions.
• Develop and provide training and legal updates to the business and create standard templates and know-how materials.
