Job summary

Ocado Retail seeks a qualified solicitor to provide day-to-day commercial legal guidance and act as a close business partner to enable proactive issue spotting and effective problem solving. You will review, draft and negotiate contracts across goods, services, logistics, IT and software, while advising on consumer, advertising and marketing law.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with post qualification experience as a general commercial lawyer.
• Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
• Pragmatic, commercial and risk-based approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Able to manage deadlines and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal advice to the business.
• Act as a business partner to facilitate proactive issue spotting and problem solving.
• Review, draft, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts including goods and services, logistics, data processing, IT and software.
• Advise on consumer, advertising and marketing laws.
• Advise on GSCOP and competition law.
• Advise on escalated customer claims and litigation matters.
• Develop and provide training to the business.
• Monitor regulations, trends and leading practices.
• Proactively advise on regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Support Ocado Retail's commercial ambitions in a legally compliant way.
• Partner with Legal and Compliance colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
