Job Description:

The Global Partnerships team is responsible for maximizing the value of dentsu’s media partnerships with the major global technology partners (including Meta, Google, Amazon, Spotify, and Snap). The mission of the Partnerships Team is to leverage dentsu clients’ media investment to build transformational products, solutions, and capabilities to maximize growth for all. This includes initiatives from training to data and insights, early access to new product developments, and co-creation of new products and solutions for our clients.
Role purpose
As a Global Platform Lead for dentsu, you will be entrusted with managing the dynamic relationships with our largest partners on a global scale. Your role will be pivotal in fostering collaboration, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the seamless integration of our agency's multiple offerings and practice areas with our partners' objectives.
Our largest ‘Enterprise’ partners touch multiple parts of our business, and this role will be responsible for connecting these multiple touchpoints, making sense of them, and translating them into both strategic and tangible commercial partnership design.
This role, as part of the Global Partnerships Team, will be positioned as the specialist focal point for all things media relating to GOOGLE/AMAZON within the dentsu business and in addition, connecting the other core practice areas of CXM and Creative – with the specific intent of creating points of difference for dentsu with our partners in the industry. In addition, this role will also be positioned as a senior focal point for the partner to access the broader dentsu business making it critical to value delivery both now and in the future.
Key Accountabilities:
DEFINE – translate cross-practice strategies into ‘One Dentsu’ holistic Google/the Amazon partnership with clear strategy and tangible commercial returns.
Objectives:
Lead and consult across development of integrated media, CXM, and creative strategies in alignment with Amazon priorities and capabilities.
Define the integrated dentsu / Google or Amazon proposition for Ads x AWS and take direct to clients.
Drive innovation and differentiation by leveraging business and client insights/trends to craft compelling strategies that deliver measurable results.
Ensure alignment between strategic initiatives and Google /Amazon’s goals to drive mutual success and long-term growth.
Outputs:
Set and deliver a clear dentsu global agenda via the development of a strategic Google/Amazon partnership plan with associated realistic and stretch goals, owners and exec buy in from across dentsu’s practices.
CONNECT – serve as global leader to drive cross-functional & cross-practice collaboration to reduce complexity of Google/Amazon capabilities and ecosystem.
Objectives:
Cultivate deep knowledge of Google/Amazon’s products, industry, challenges, and opportunities to provide insightful guidance and solutions to the broader dentsu business to unlock partnership potential.
Forge strong connections between dentsu practice areas and agency brands to align efforts in leveraging Google/Amazon’s capabilities to deliver best-in-class, end-to-end Google/Amazon use cases.
Coordinate cross-functional / cross-practice stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions that bring together the advertising and tech sides of the business to address needs of dentsu, clients and Google/Amazon.
Unearth client learnings/insights, synthesize, and report back to Google/Amazon for review, consideration, and implementation.
Outputs:
Deliver/grow end-to-end Google/Amazon solutions for 2-3 high-potential clients, annually.
Establish cadence and mechanisms to bring teams together to discuss opportunities/challenges – lead quarterly client councils for key dentsu leaders, create regional internal summits for sharing Google/Amazon news and opportunities across Media, CX and Creative practices – owning the development of agenda, content and ultimately serving as point of contact for executive influence.
Ensure core cross-practice teams are fluent and empowered across Media and Cloud operations and opportunities.
GROW – serve as Google/Amazon SME and partnership advocate, enabling more fluid integration of offerings/innovation, to drive organic and net new growth.
Objectives:
Serve as the central point of contact for agency growth and client teams to help identify areas of opportunity to embed Google/Amazon across pitch narratives/proposals.
Develop compelling materials that clearly articulate dentsu / Google or Amazon partnership and associated value.
Contribute to increased pitch performance by developing bespoke materials / thinking related to a particular client brief, considering the Google/Amazon partnership and canvas of offerings.
Provide strategic consultation and thought leadership to Google/Amazon on all aspects of their business as it relates to our agency's capabilities.
Outputs:
Engage and participate across 4-6 local/global pitches annually to ensure the best of Google/Amazon partnership opportunities are featured as a point of difference to support the dentsu offering.
INNOVATE – equip teams and relevant practitioners across dentsu with access and understanding of Google/Amazon tools and services to unlock areas of innovation.
Objectives:
Ascertain learnings from dentsu teams to understand their innovation agenda and identify areas in which Google/Amazon can support.
Maintain finger on the latest offerings from Google/Amazon (ex: AI) and provide guidance to Google/Amazon in terms of positioning to dentsu teams.
Facilitate the introduction and championing of latest offerings and testing opportunities to dentsu teams and ensure executive leadership sponsorship.
Outputs:
Socialize and scale the awareness and understanding of Google/Amazon innovation offerings across the core set of dentsu influencers.
Identify key Google/Amazon native and bespoke AI solutions to serve as gateway for growth and adoption, enabling dentsu to expand on its position amongst the big 6.
Advocate and secure client participation in 3+ alpha/betas throughout the year.
ENABLE – drive scaled internal education and proficiency across Google/Amazon ecosystem of products, capabilities, and solutions.
Deliverables:
Socialize Google/Amazon expertise and support in the scaled upskilling of the dentsu network to reduce complexity and drive innovation.
Ensure local market teams have clear view of the value output from the partnership and that local needs are being considered in partner strategy development.
Champion best practice, educational ambitions, and creation of industry-leading case studies to promote externally and across dentsu.
Collate a consolidated view of partner spend and opportunity across the network to help identify gaps/opportunities and deploy strategies in response.
Outputs:
Develop global dentsu /Google or Amazon learning roadmap/curriculum, annually.
Develop always on partnership hub to house materials, creating increased visibility and access for teams, inclusive of case studies, partnership benefits, testing opportunities, partner updates/roadmap, etc.
Professional Skills
15+ years of experience in media& marketing landscape.
Deep knowledge of and experience with integrated media strategies and planning.
Solid understanding of client needs and how teams latch onto new products/opportunities.
Clear vision of the media/ad-tech landscape, across both “legacy partners” as well as new/emerging tech.
Proven leadership skills and ability to interact and influence at, all levels of the organization, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration, teamwork and results.
Experience in developing solutions to support the sale of new services to clients.
Commitment to delivering media solutions and the ability to align team members behind said solutions.
Desire to learn new skills and link different aspects of the business.
Ability to think strategically, not just tactically; someone who can see the big picture but can articulate the all-important detail.
Exceptional presentation skills, written and oral communication.
