Job summary

Vanrath is recruiting a Financial Controller (North West) to oversee the finance function and provide strategic financial insights for ongoing growth. This role focuses on strengthening internal controls, standard costing and manufacturing margin analysis within a dynamic global business.

The ideal candidate will hold ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualifications with senior finance experience in manufacturing, and possess strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified with ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent and strong professional education.
• Significant senior finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or engineering sectors.
• Proven ability to lead finance teams and manage statutory and management reporting.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory management and financial controls.
• Experience with external audits and ERP systems integration/optimization.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close, management accounts, and KPI reporting.
• Maintain internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow reporting.
• Lead statutory compliance including VAT, corporation tax and audits.
• Manage manufacturing finance activities like standard costing, inventory control and margin analysis.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling for strategic decisions.
• Develop and mentor the finance team and drive continuous improvement.
• Implement system enhancements and automation initiatives to optimise processes.
