Job summary

LGC is seeking a Warehouse and Shipping Assistant to join its world-class Warehouse and Logistics team in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. The role focuses on receiving, inspecting, recording, packing, and maintaining ERP records to support seamless operations.

You will coordinate international shipments, manage hazardous materials handling, and ensure accurate inventory through weekly cycle counts, while maintaining a safe, efficient workspace.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in administration and operational tasks.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities to support business needs.
• Proven warehousing and logistics experience with SAP/ERP familiarity.
• Ability to work autonomously and coordinate tasks effectively.
• Clear verbal and written communication with internal and external collaborators.
• Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems.
• Experience with third-party shipping platforms is beneficial.
• Experience handling temperature-sensitive products; DG shipping/IATA training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments and materials.
• Pack according to shipping instructions and local regulations globally.
• Maintain consumables and raise purchase requisitions for essentials.
• Manage a shared team inbox and respond promptly with accurate information.
• Conduct measurements of products using specialized equipment.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely (pallet trucks, pump trucks).
• Pick and issue internal material requisitions and transport tasks.
• Ensure correct storage and adherence to EHS regulations.
• Maintain ERP accuracy with transactions and weekly cycle counts.
• Support international shipping, including hazardous materials and daily pickups.
• Maintain a safe, organized workspace and monitor cold storage areas.
• Assist in producing SOPs for the Warehouse department.
• Comply with company, departmental, and regulatory policies.
• Support the wider commercial team with administration tasks.
