Job Description:
About the Role
Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Private Energy Partners are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Global IT Manager to take ownership of the group's IT infrastructure across all locations. This is a critical leadership role designed to move the organisation from a lean, start-up-style setup to a secure, efficient, and scalable global IT operation. You will lead a comprehensive review of our current environment, design a future-fit architecture, and execute a transformation roadmap that supports our business growth, cybersecurity posture, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure Leadership: Own and manage all aspects of the global IT infrastructure across Quinbrook and PEP, ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and scalable.
- Strategic Review & Modernisation: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current IT landscape and develop a strategy for transitioning to modern, cloud-based systems and standardised tools that support long-term business needs.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Develop and implement a cybersecurity strategy aligned with industry best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST). Protect company systems and data through robust policies, security tools, and continuous monitoring.
- Device & Endpoint Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of company laptops and devices, from procurement and configuration to deployment, patching, and secure decommissioning. Implement MDM (Mobile Device Management) to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): Implement and manage SSO and IAM solutions to centralise access controls, reduce risk, and improve user experience across systems.
- Cloud-first Strategy: Lead the migration and integration of core IT systems into secure, scalable cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS), supporting remote work and global operations.
- IT Support & Service Delivery: Establish a scalable and responsive global IT support model, including ticketing systems, SLAs, and standardised onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Collaboration Tools & Intranet: Lead the implementation and management of internal collaboration tools, including the development of an intranet or SharePoint environment to support knowledge sharing, document management, and employee engagement across global teams.
- IT Policy & Governance: Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures for acceptable use, data protection, remote access, and incident response. Ensure documentation is audit-ready and supports future compliance requirements.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Create and test disaster recovery and continuity plans to minimise risk and downtime.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors, consultants, and service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure service alignment with business goals.
- Budgeting & Planning: Develop and manage the IT budget, including forecasting, procurement, and cost optimisation for hardware, software, and services.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders to align IT strategy with operational priorities, project needs, and future growth.
Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in an IT leadership role, ideally in a high-growth or global environment transitioning from start-up to scale.
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and IT systems integration.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, IAM, and IT compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing endpoint fleets (e.g., laptops, desktops) and implementing MDM solutions.
- Proven ability to develop and lead IT support models, including service desks and SLA frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, intranet portals) to improve internal communication and knowledge management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience working across multiple time zones and international teams.
About the candidate
A hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” approach; equally comfortable shaping global IT strategy and personally managing day-to-day technical operations or solving urgent issues when needed.
