Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting an Import/Export Operations Specialist based in Leeds, United Kingdom. You will manage day-to-day import and export operations to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced medical device environment.

You will prepare and review trade documentation, coordinate with freight forwarders and internal stakeholders, and ensure adherence to UK/EU trade rules. This role supports global supply chain continuity and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
• Professional training in international trade or customs compliance preferred.
• 3–5 years of import/export operations experience in a regulated environment.
• Experience preparing import/export documentation with accuracy.
• Knowledge of UK/EU customs and post-Brexit trade requirements.
• Experience with ERP or trade management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day import and export operations to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate trade documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies.
• Ensure adherence to UK, EU, and global customs laws, trade compliance requirements, and DePuy Synthes internal standards.
• Monitor and support customs clearance activities, including tariff classification, valuation, and duty management.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with audit, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with supply chain, procurement, quality, and finance teams to support efficient cross-border material flows.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and cost control within import/export operations.
