Job summary

Halliday Marx partnered with an international media business to recruit a Financial Controller. The role leads a small finance team, oversees GLs across 20 holding companies, and drives IFRS reporting, budgeting, and audits.

The candidate will manage month‑end close, intercompany reconciliations, and provide insightful financial analysis to support performance reviews and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a finance role with at least 1 year of management experience
• In-house controlling experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance
• ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification

Responsibilities

• Oversee 20 holding companies’ general ledger accounts.
• Lead a team of two finance professionals.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate intercompany reconciliations and recharges.
• Analyze financial statements (BS, PL, CF) and provide insights.
• Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare yearly budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare statutory accounts for central entities and liaise with external consultants.
