Job summary

Taylor Root is assisting a global law firm to recruit an associate into its market-leading financial regulation team. The role focuses on advising domestic and international financial institutions, fintechs, and crypto businesses on complex regulatory issues within an integrated platform.

Candidates will work on UK and EU frameworks, licensing, and strategic regulatory matters, with exposure to discussions with banks, asset managers, and payment providers.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years’ PQE in financial services regulation, ideally from a leading law firm or in-house financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of UK and EU regulatory perimeter and related compliance obligations.
• Ability to deliver practical, commercially focused regulatory advice.
• Excellent drafting, communication, and attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with confident client management.

Responsibilities

• Advise on UK/EU regulatory frameworks and perimeter issues.
• Support on CRD VI, MiFID/RIS reforms, PSD3, cryptoasset regulation and Consumer Duty implementations.
• Counsel on digital asset platforms and regulatory licensing/remediation projects.
• Engage with banks, asset managers, brokers, payments/e-money services, trading platforms, fintechs, and retail intermediaries.
