Job summary

Mourant is an international professional services firm and offshore law firm seeking a Financial Controller to lead our financial control and reporting function across the Group. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director, CFO and leadership team to deliver timely, accurate financial information and support strategic decision making.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification experience (i.e. 10 years plus) within a complex, multi-entity environment.
• Good technical accounting expertise, including consolidation, statutory reporting, audit and financial control.
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Commercially minded with effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confident building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience within a professional service, regulated or multi-jurisdictional business would be advantageous.
• Private equity-backed or institutionally owned business experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly group close, consolidation and management accounts process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across all entities and jurisdictions.
• Maintain the integrity of the Group balance sheet, cash flow reporting and financial controls.
• Lead the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements, statutory accounts and the external audit process.
• Ensure good financial governance, accounting policies and control frameworks across the Group.
• Partner with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and performance reporting.
• Produce high-quality financial information for Board, investor and stakeholder reporting.
• Support strategic initiatives including refinancing activities, acquisitions, integrations and expansion into new jurisdictions.
• Lead, coach and develop the Financial Control team, cultivating a high-performing and collaborative culture.
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, standardisation and effective use of finance technology.
