Frontier Economics is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to own the monthly close, financial reporting and core controls, supporting the Finance Director and FP&A team. You will lead the Financial Control team and ensure accurate revenue recognition, WIP, and balance sheet integrity across UK and international operations.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with significant experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of relevant accounting standards, reporting requirements and regulations.
• Significant experience of financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet management and financial controls.
• Experience supporting the delivery of annual external audits and statutory financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly financial close process and ensure timely, accurate Management Accounts.
• Review consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet and supporting schedules; explain movements and variances.
• Ensure proper accounting for revenue, WIP, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll and other key areas.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and improve hygiene of reconciliations.
• Ensure integrity of general ledger across UK and international operations.
• Provide high-quality actuals, analysis and accounting insight to support management reporting and forecasting.
• Translate reporting requirements into robust, user-friendly reports.
• Support annual financial statements and external audit by ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate.
• Lead financial control around project accounting, revenue recognition, WIP and billing.
