We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Global Financial Controller with solid experience in financial management—ideally within the FMCG sector (experience in the hospitality industry is a strong advantage).

The Financial Controller will manage the finance function's day-to-day activities, including AR and AP operations, preparation of management and statutory accounts, and oversight of key finance processes. This role ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and robust reporting.

You will play a key role in aligning financial strategy with business objectives, supporting our continued growth and innovation.

As part of a close-knit team based in London, you will contribute in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Your insights will support strategic decision-making and ensure a solid financial foundation for our award-winning brands.

As Financial Controller, you will bring structure and foresight to all aspects of financial operations—from cash flow management to reporting and internal controls. You will shape scalable processes that support the business as it grows, ensuring alignment between financial strategy and creative and commercial goals.

WORKING STRUCTURE

- Flexible start time between 8:00–11:00 AM

- Work-from-home available on Mondays and Fridays

- Up to 6 additional WFH days per year

- Based in West London

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis in both GBP and EUR.
• Perform monthly stock reconciliations and monitor standard costing and gross margin reporting.
• Lead the month-end close for Italicus Ltd to meet Pernod Ricard’s five-day reporting deadlines.
• Translate and reconcile financials for group reporting to Pernod Ricard, including structure cost, A&P (Advocacy & Promotion), and retained earnings.

Year-End, Audit, and Compliance

• Lead year-end accounts preparation and statutory filings across all three entities in compliance with UK GAAP.
• Coordinate and manage the external audit for Italicus Ltd, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Review CT600 corporation tax returns, patent box and R&D tax relief claims in collaboration with tax advisors.

Accounts Management & Intercompany Transactions

• Oversee AP/AR functions, including invoice authorisation, supplier payments, and robust credit control.
• Calculate, issue and record intercompany recharges across the group, ensuring accurate treatment of cross-entity transactions

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow forecasting across multiple bank accounts and currencies, ensuring optimal liquidity.
• Authorised forex conversions and supplier payments via ApprovalMax and Airwallex.
• Oversee the payment approval workflow.

Process & Systems Development

• Strengthen internal controls and scale financial processes and reporting systems

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee VAT compliance by reviewing returns prepared by external accountants before HMRC submission.
• Independently complete and submit PSA and P11D filings across Italicus and Italspirits.
• Maintain compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and ONS survey requirements.

Payroll & Staff Remuneration

• Manage accurate and timely payroll submission to external provider.
• Review payroll reports and process employee payments via Airwallex.

Operational Finance & Systems Oversight

• Support the operations team with demand planning, production cost tracking and inventory optimisation.
• Act as a system Administrator for key finance systems including ApprovalMax, Xero, and Dext

Compliance & Risk Management

• Maintain compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
• Lead the finance function, including junior staff and external service providers

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

• Proven experience in financial control, finance management, or senior accounting roles
• Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end finance operations, including AP, AR, and O2C

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent )

Technical Proficiency

• Strong knowledge of financial systems, controls, and modelling
• Experience with financial management software (Xero, Approval Max, and Dext experience a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills

• Confidence in providing insights to support executive decisions
