Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Customs Specialist to optimise import/export processes and support internal and external customers within the Customs Department.

You will prepare and submit declarations, ensure compliance, and liaise with colleagues across teams to deliver timely, accurate customs documentation.

This role reports to the Customs Supervisor and offers a pension plan and rewards, with a strong emphasis on customer service and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience in customs operations is required.
• Good knowledge of customs regulations including CFSP and Intrastat.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate import and export customs declarations and Supporting documentation using dedicated software and internal/external systems.
• Manage complex customs procedures and requirements including CFSP, Intrastat, Intrastat, licensable goods and transit documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with relevant customs regulations and HMRC requirements; maintain AEO status and provide guidance.
• Provide expert customs-related advice and support to internal colleagues and external customers.
• Identify, investigate and resolve errors or discrepancies in customs declarations and documentation.
• Coordinate with customers and colleagues across teams to ensure timely processing of customs documentation.
