Qualifications

• Proven experience in customs brokerage and compliance.
• Experience in leading or supervising a team.
• Strong understanding of UK customs regulations and licensing.
• Proficient with customs systems and reporting tools such as CDS and JSM.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication both inside and outside the organization.
• Strong organisational skills with multiple priorities.
• Proactive approach to identifying operational and compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team of customs specialists to high performance.
• Manage resource allocation to meet workload and service levels.
• Oversee import/export declarations in compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements and licensing.
• Act as a key contact for internal/external stakeholders, maintaining high service levels.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to customs operations and audits.
• Support audits with documentation and explanations as required.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
• Monitor and report team performance against KPIs and SLAs.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.
