Job summary

MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading consumer electronics player to recruit a Compliance Manager – MDA. You will own the product compliance framework for an exclusive own-brand appliances range, with authority to halt launches if evidence is insufficient, ensuring UK and EU sale readiness and ongoing regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing product compliance and safety in major domestic electrical appliances, consumer electronics or other regulated products.
• Strong working knowledge of UK product legislation and standards, including UKCA/CE, EMC, Ecodesign, Energy Labelling, RoHS, REACH and WEEE.
• Experience setting up compliance KPIs, audit programmes and management reporting.
• Willingness to travel within Europe and the Far East.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the end-to-end product compliance framework for the own-brand portfolio, including policies, procedures and controls across the lifecycle.
• Own the product approval process, taking products through defined compliance stages from specification to testing, production and final sign-off.
• Review product specifications early to identify regulatory requirements, testing needs and compliance risks.
• Instruct and manage accredited test laboratories, agreeing testing scope and reviewing results.
• Coordinate supplier and factory audits covering manufacturing capability, quality systems and traceability, with travel across Europe and the Far East.
• Establish change-control processes ensuring changes are approved before implementation.
• Maintain Technical Files and compliance records for regulator scrutiny.
