Job summary

JD.com invites you to join its JD Young Internship in London for 3–6 months as a Category Assistant. You'll work with category leaders on assortment planning, product selection and inventory management.

You will conduct market and consumer trend analysis, maintain data in merchandising systems, and prepare reports for reviews. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, cross-functional exposure and growth within a global tech company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing or related quantitative field.
• Final-year students graduating in 2026 preferred.
• Experience in retail, merchandising or buying is a plus.
• No more than 2 years of work experience.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online shopping trends.
• Basic Excel skills.
• Proficiency in Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

• Support category leader, manager and category buyers in day-to-day merchandising.
• Assist in vendor communication, negotiation and relationship management.
• Conduct market, competitor and consumer trend analysis.
• Maintain product data, pricing and inventory in the merchandising system.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for promotional campaigns and product launches.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and analyses for category reviews.
