Job summary

JD.com is offering an internship under the JD Young (JDY) Internship Program in London. The role supports category leaders with merchandising activities, vendor coordination, and market research while gaining exposure to a global e-commerce business.

You will help maintain product data and assist in promotional campaigns and product launches, developing essential skills for a career in retail and merchandising.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business/Marketing or related quantitative field.
• Retail merchandising or buying experience is a plus.
• Familiar with e-commerce platforms and online shopping trends is a plus.
• Basic analytical skills and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support category leaders in day-to-day merchandising activities including assortment planning and inventory management.
• Assist vendor communication and negotiation to ensure timely delivery and quality.
• Conduct market research and consumer trend analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
• Maintain product data, pricing information, and inventory in merchandising system.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute promotional campaigns and product launches.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and analyses for category reviews and executive updates.

Over 3–6 months, you’ll work alongside experienced teams, build fundamental skills, and gain insights into how a global business operates.What You'll DoSupport the category leader, manager and category buyers in day to-day merchandising activities such as assortment planning, product selection, and inventory management.Assist in vendor communication, negotiation, and relationship management to ensure timely delivery of products and adherence to quality standards.Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer trend analysis to identify emerging opportunities and threats in assigned product categories.Maintain accurate product data, pricing information, and inventory records in the merchandising system to facilitate effective decision-making and reporting.Help identify and correct errors in product descriptions, visuals or data.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute promotional campaigns, product launches.Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and analysis for category reviews, business meetings, and executive updates.About YouCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree/ Master's degree in Business, Marketing or related quantitative field.
