Job summary

AIG is seeking a Catastrophe Research Manager to lead model validation and research across perils and regions, coordinating with teams in the US, London and Bengaluru. You will mentor researchers and drive the development of AIG's view of risk worldwide.

Working with senior leaders, you will implement industry-leading analytics, support climate risk insights, and engage regulators and external partners to advance catastrophe modelling across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in catastrophe research or model development.
• PhD or Master's degree in Climate Science, Natural Hazards, Applied Statistics, or a related subject.
• Experience at an Underwriting Company or a Broker is a bonus.
• Excellent understanding of catastrophe modelling, with ability to present to regulators and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Model Validation & Research for specific perils and regions, mentoring a team of analysts/scientists.
• Collaborate with Cat Modelling Leadership to evaluate models and implement best practices.
• Support end-to-end catastrophe model evaluation and define AIG's View of Risk.
• Validate new and existing vendor models and propose adjustments to vendor views.
• Develop relationships with reinsurance brokers and model vendors to benchmark AIG's View of Risk.
