AIG is seeking a Catastrophe Research Manager to lead model validation and research across perils and regions. You will mentor a team in Bengaluru and collaborate with US and London teams, plus external vendors, to shape AIG’s view of risk worldwide.

You will drive industry-leading analytics, engage senior leadership, and influence climate-related risk discussions with regulators and partners. This role requires strong communication and programming skills in R, Python, and SQL.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of catastrophe research or model development experience.
• PhD or Master’s in Climate Science, Natural Hazards, Applied Statistics, or related field.

Aufgaben

• Lead model validation and research for select perils and regions; mentor a team.
• Evaluate models with Cat Modelling Leadership and implement best practices across the organization.
• Support end-to-end catastrophe model evaluation and define the AIG View of Risk.
• Develop relationships with Reinsurance Broker and Model Vendor partners; benchmark AIG’s views.
• Support climate change assessments and regulator engagement on catastrophe risk topics.
• Collaborate with Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Underwriting and ERM to share insights.
• Partner with Data Office on strategic data initiatives and vendor assessments.
