Job summary

The Air Freight Operator role is based in Caterham, Surrey, working for an established international freight forwarder. You will manage day-to-day air shipments from booking to completion, liaising with customers, airlines and overseas agents to keep shipments moving smoothly.

We are looking for someone with solid air freight experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced operations environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Air Freight Operator or Air Freight Coordinator role.
• Knowledge of air freight processes, documentation and terminology.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing air import and export shipments from booking through to completion.
• Preparing and checking air freight documentation.
• Liaising with customers, airlines, overseas agents and suppliers.
• Monitoring shipment progress and following up on delays or missing information.
• Responding to customer queries and providing regular shipment updates.
• Supporting quotations, rate requests and booking arrangements.
• Checking supplier invoices, costs and shipment charges.
• Maintaining accurate job files and system records.
• Resolving operational issues and escalating where necessary.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
• Providing a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.
