Job summary

Right Now Recruitment is recruiting an Air Import Operator for a well-established freight-forwarding firm based in Staines. You will manage air import shipments from arrival to delivery, ensure customs entries are accurate, and communicate with airlines, customers and overseas offices.

The role requires knowledge of MAWBs/HAWBs, excellent organisational and customer-service skills, and the ability to handle multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Air Import Freight Forwarding.
• Strong understanding of customs entries and clearance procedures.
• Familiar with Dangerous Goods handling would be advantageous but not essential.
• Good knowledge of Air Import documentation (MAWBs/HAWBs).
• Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Air Import shipments from arrival through to final delivery.
• Complete and process customs import entries in line with procedures.
• Handle Dangerous Goods shipments in line with IATA regulations.
• Liaise with airlines, handling agents, customers, overseas offices and transport providers.
• Prepare and check import documentation (MAWBs, HAWBs, customs paperwork).
• Monitor shipments and provide customers with regular updates.
• Resolve operational issues and ensure files are costed and invoiced on time.
