Job summary

Barnardo’s Gifts in Kind in Bellshill is seeking a dedicated GIK Van Driver to join our on-site team. You will safely drive a van to collect donated goods from partner organizations and deliver them to Barnardo’s shops and distribution points.

Daily tasks include loading and unloading stock, keeping accurate collection and drop-off records, performing simple vehicle safety checks, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift, load and unload stock safely.
• Experience with basic vehicle checks and reporting issues.
• Strong organizational skills for planning routes and maintaining records.
• Good communication with donors, shop staff and colleagues.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently following procedures.
• Awareness of health and safety standards in driving/warehouse environments.
• Previous driving/logistics or charity experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

Role Description The GIK Van Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Bellshill. This position is responsible for safely driving vans to collect donated goods from partner organizations and delivering them to Barnardo’s shops and distribution points. Day-to-day tasks include loading and unloading stock, maintaining accurate records of collections and drop-offs, and ensuring goods are handled with care. The role also involves carrying out basic vehicle safety checks, reporting any maintenance needs, and adhering to all road safety and organizational policies. The GIK Van Driver will represent Barnardo’s professionally when interacting with donors, shop teams, and colleagues, supporting the smooth and efficient redistribution of Gifts in Kind products.

Qualifications
