Job summary

Squire's Garden Centres is seeking a proactive individual to provide management support to the Gift Department within our busy garden centre. You will work closely with the Garden Centre Manager to help the department succeed and deliver excellent customer service.

The role is full-time (40 hours) with 09:00-18:00 shifts and alternate weekends, including Saturdays 09:00-18:00 and Sundays 09:30-17:30. You will manage stock, assist with purchasing, and lead the team to drive sales.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail or similar environment.
• Strong stock control and purchasing awareness.
• Excellent computer skills and customer service foco.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stock levels and ensure accurate ordering and stock clearance.
• Co-operate with line management and Product Managers.
• Take responsibility for the whole centre in the absence of the Manager.
• Purchase within company guidelines to maintain stock mix.
• Feedback on current and new products to optimise range and stock availability.
• Liaise with Product Manager to ensure optimum range and stock availability.
• Use initiative to increase sales in the department.
• Generate sales opportunities through customer interaction.
• Monitor standards of appearance and uphold brand image.
• Organise and allocate team tasks aligned with customer service needs.
• Handle queries and complaints politely and escalate as needed.
