Job summary

Amey Industry Placement in Geotechnical Engineering is based in Belfast. The role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic geotechnical practice, with exposure to major UK infrastructure projects and collaboration across highways, rail, and environmental teams.

Your work will include desk studies, ground investigations planning, asset inspections, and preparing design reports, under the guidance of industry experts. Starting September 2027, with a 40-hour week and a starting salary of £26,582.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• must have a Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Produce desk studies to determine risk and suitable solutions with safety first.
• Plan and supervise ground investigations to inform geotechnical interventions.
• Carry out geotechnical asset inspections on major infrastructure.
• Propose solutions and perform calculations to assess suitability.
• Prepare specifications, drawings and design reports.
• Deliver multidisciplinary schemes with colleagues from across Amey Consulting.
