Job summary

Amey is offering an Industry Placement in Geotechnical Engineering in the UK. The paid placement is based in Edinburgh, Motherwell or Perth, with a 40-hour week and a September 2027 start.

You'll work on meaningful projects from day one, developing practical skills alongside industry experts within Amey Consulting. We value curious, motivated students who want to grow a career in engineering and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology or a related subject.
• A Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Produce desk studies to determine risk and suitable solutions with safety first.
• Plan and supervise ground investigations to inform geotechnical interventions.
• Carry out geotechnical asset inspections on major infrastructure in Rail and Highways sectors.
• Propose solutions to engineering problems and perform calculations and analyses.
• Prepare specifications, drawings and design reports.
• Deliver multidisciplinary schemes in collaboration with colleagues across Amey Consulting.
