Job summary

AECOM is seeking graduates for Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology in Basingstoke. The 2-year GDP focuses on developing core technical skills across ground investigations, modelling and reporting.

You will join a hybrid work environment with access to GEO Grounding and multiple training modules. You will work on desk studies, fieldwork supervision, and interpretation of geotechnical data while pursuing professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with 2:1 or higher.
• MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Civil 3D desirable.
• Willingness to pursue ICE, IOM3 or The Geological Society qualifications.
• Full UK driving license preferred.
• Strong communication and writing skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys and geomorphological mapping.
• Design, planning and procurement of ground investigations.
• Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork.
• Geological interpretation and preparation of interpretative reports.
• Analysis of geotechnical data and development of ground models; reporting.
• Use of OpenGround for data management and Leapfrog for 3D modelling; additional software exposure.
