Job summary

PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer / Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a nationwide contractor. The role blends site, office and home working as part of a busy team delivering geotechnical and geo-environmental services.

You will analyse site data and produce both factual and interpretive reports, while supervising fieldwork and coordinating subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• A Geology, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences degree or related subject.
• Post-graduation practical or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of ground investigation techniques and BS5930.
• Experience with data management software packages.
• IT proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
• Attention to detail and accurate work with good planning skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Awareness of HSEQ regulations.
• Ability to produce factual or interpretive reports.
• Experience compiling data from multiple sources.
• Comply with all HSEQ policies.
• Manage site operatives and subcontractors.
• Deliver projects safely and on time.
• Coordinate intrusive investigations with safety.
• Undertake in-situ testing and sampling.
• Produce site reports based on ground conditions.
• Understand site/project specs and drawings.
• Able to present technical data clearly.
• Highly organised with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Analyse findings and convey information in well documented reports.
• Produce factual and interpretive reports for internal and client use.
• Supervise site operations and subcontractors to meet project goals.
• Organise intrusive investigations with health and safety considerations.
• Arrange and supervise trial pits, boreholes and sampling activities.
• Manage samples for laboratory testing and data handling.
• Provide consultative engineering advice and solutions.
