Job summary

Matchtech is assisting a busy geo-environmental, geotechnical and site investigation firm to recruit a Junior to Mid-Level Geo-Environmental Engineer/Geologist. The role allows hybrid working from offices in the West of England, West Midlands, or Milton Keynes, with progression under supervision of a Senior Engineer.

Key responsibilities include site contamination assessments, geotechnical investigations, ground gas monitoring, and report writing, with a strong emphasis on HSEQ and driving

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant field, with a preference for Geology; a related Masters Degree is advantageous
• Experience specialising in Ground Investigation and geo-environmental and geotechnical consultancy
• A good HSEQ record, with a HSEQ qualification being ideal

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Site Contamination Assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 to Stage 3
• Conducting Site Investigations for geotechnical appraisal, infiltration testing, and combined investigations using all common techniques
• Monitoring ground gases and groundwater
• Scheduling contamination, waste classification, and geotechnical laboratory testing
• Writing factual and interpretative reports, with mentorship to support improvement and progression
• Managing sites efficiently
• Maintaining self-motivation and time management
• Applying good Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) practices
• Holding a full clean driving licence
