Job summary

PWS Technical Services Ltd is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer / Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a team delivering ground investigations and related services. The role blends site, office and home working, with duties spanning data analysis, reporting and project coordination.

The candidate should have a degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or Earth Sciences, plus post-graduate experience and knowledge of BS5930. A structured, team-friendly approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences or related subject.
• Post-graduation practical experience in geotechnical/geo-environmental work.
• Knowledge of ground investigation techniques and BS5930.
• Experience with data management software packages.
• IT proficient, able to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines with good planning and organisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for reports.
• Awareness of industry health and safety regulations.
• Ability to produce factual or interpretive reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyse findings and convey information into well-documented reports for projects.
• Conduct site investigations, testing and sampling per BS5930/Eurocode 7.
• Supervise site work and manage subcontractors and health/safety needs.
• Plan intrusive investigations and coordinate plant, labour and resources.
• Prepare reports based on site data, ground conditions and requirements.
