Job summary

Arup is seeking a geotechnical engineer to lead delivery across a range of projects in the Midlands, Wales and West geography and beyond. You will guide from site investigation through design and construction, leading teams and serving as the main client contact, with opportunities to grow in project leadership and client management.

You will apply deep ground engineering expertise to solve design challenges while developing professional growth in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in geotechnical design, including foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, slopes and buried structures.
• Ability to lead desktop studies, plan and interpret ground investigations, develop ground models and manage ground risk.
• Experience applying UK specifications for ground investigations, piling and earthworks, with knowledge of contracts.
• Proficient in industry-standard geotechnical software.
• Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering with ICE / Geological Society qualification.
• Collaborative and adaptable working style; ability to manage multi-project work packages.
• Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical engineering work for diverse projects across markets and locations.
• Deliver from early ground investigation through to design and construction, leading design teams and acting as a key client contact.
• Support growth of Arup’s ground engineering capability through high-quality technical delivery and knowledge sharing.
